It's afternoon on Rock Lane and we're gathered around the TV to watch the traditional parade - in Detroit? We were stunned. Note the dazed expressions on (left to right) Kathy, Emily (OK, all you can see of Emily is the white hammock wrap that Emily is nestled in around Kathy. Sorry), John (foreground), Suzanne, and Mary (both, barely visible on the couch in the background). Later, we were disappointed to see Dallas win. America loves to hate America's Team.

Couch Potatoes

Tiny One

This was the first Thanksgiving Emily has celebrated on Rock Lane. She won't be eating solid food for quite a while, yet. But I'm sure she enjoyed the quiet time with the Lions and later with the Cowboys. Emily stays pretty close to Suzanne (the "milk bar"). When she's not attached to the food supply, she's sleeping, cooing, gurgling, or doing something else - you know what.

Mary labored in the kitchen most of the day (and the previous night) while the rest of us gave support as best we could. (See the couch potato photo, above.) With Suzanne captive, Mary and I brought all the fixins' up from San Jose. Kathy brought drinks of all kinds for all persons (except Emily). John stood around and looked pretty. John also got a ham - we all like ham. In addition to the ham, we had stuffed turkey, yams, mashed potatoes, gravy from the gods, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, and appetizers (cheese, roasted garlic, and bread). We all reclined for a couple of hours afterwards; Then we ate apple pie with whipped cream. I whipped the cream. Mary made everything but the ham and the roasted garlic from scratch. Mary is god.

The Kitchen

Friday (in Richmond)

Mark, Bruce, Meredith, and Mary

The next evening, I managed to catch this shot of a famous rock band. The name escapes me, but I'm sure you've heard them. The tall guy plays accordian, I think. Their last album was a huge hit in France.

I kept trying to take Kathy's picture all night. This was the best shot I got. This camera sucks.
