The numbers on Sexual Assault are staggering. The perpetrators are over 90% male. With that background, the YWCA of Silicon Valley holds a Sexual Assault awareness event called "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes". This is my second year participating. |
|
Before: one hairy pair of blazingly white legs. |
Here's the "after" picture. Notice how much the shoes dress a guy up. The socks were Mary's inspiration. |
The finished ensemble: |
|
I'm wearing maybe 2 inch heels. The guy on the left is balancing on about twice that height. |
|
I really liked the coordination with the teal jersey, here. |
|
And what event isn't improved by a guy in a tux and 4 inch lucite heels? |
|
I want to give a really big thank you to each of my supporters:
I don't know what the total was for the event, but together, we eighteen people raised over $800 to support the work of the YWCA and the Rape Crisis Center. Thanks, again. |
And thanks to the YWCA of
Silicon Valley for putting on a great event and for all the important
work they're doing in the community. |
